These are SO much easier than they look and honestly taste even better than the frozen ones! This recipe makes about 8 pretzel dogs, and I tested two different methods. Both turned out delicious, but if you're looking for the easiest option, I definitely recommend the baking soda water dip instead of boiling, they came out almost identical. But Both options are listed below.

Dough
1 ½ cups warm water
2 ½ teaspoons instant yeast (or 1 packet)

Make the Dough
In the bowl of a stand mixer, combine the warm water, yeast, and brown sugar. Let sit for 2–3 minutes.
Add the salt, flour, and melted butter (or olive oil).
Mix until the dough comes together into a shaggy ball. Continue kneading until smooth and elastic.
Place the dough in a lightly greased bowl, cover with a towel, and let rise for 20–30 minutes, or until doubled in size.
Assemble the Pretzel Dogs
Divide the dough into 8 roughly equal pieces.
Roll each piece into a long rope.
Wrap one rope around each hot dog, pinching the ends to secure.
